Dr Jai Panchapakesan – Ophthalmologist

Dr Jai grew up in Sydney attending Parramatta preschool, Rosehill Public School ,then James Ruse High ( all in Sydney). He completed his Medical degree and PhD in Cataract Surgery at Sydney University. Professor Paul Mitchell, one of Australias most well recognised macula experts, was his PhD supervisor.

His Ophthalmology training was undertaken at the prestigious Sydney Eye Hospital, with Sub specialty training in Laser Vision Correction. Following his acceptance as a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists, Dr Jai undertook a sub-specialty fellowship in Refractive Surgery for a few years in Noosa before relocating to Bundaberg to establish Queensland Eye Specialists.

In conjunction with his specialist medical practice, Dr Jai also assists with the education of our future doctors through his role as a Senior Lecturer with the School of Medicine – Rural Clinical School at The University of Queensland.
