Dr Phil is the principle dentist at Distinctive Dental Care and has been practising at the cutting edge of dentistry for over thirty years.
A detailed career
Dr Phil graduated from the University of Queensland in 1982. He has worked in a variety of rural and regional settings and is experienced in providing world-class service for his more remote patients.
Following his graduation, Dr Phil spent 1983 as the first ever School Dentist in the remote Far-North Queensland Gulf of Carpentaria region.
Dr Phil then spent a further three years working for the Queensland School Dental Service in Bundaberg, before opening his private general practice in Bundaberg in 1987.
Dr Phil spent the following seven years at the now demolished dental practice on Olsen’s Corner (with branch locations in Mundubbera and Gayndah), before relocating to Heidke Street near Sugarland Shopping Centre.
After fifteen years in the Heidke Street practice, Dr Phil established the state-of-the-art facility: Distinctive Dental Care and Bundaberg Dental Implant Centre, where he remains committed to ongoing education and commitment to providing industry-leading techniques and service in 21st Century Dentistry.
Dr Phil regularly attends continuing education courses in full mouth reconstruction, dental implants, bone and soft-tissue grafting and restorative and cosmetic dentistry. He is a member of the:
Outside the practice:
In his spare time Dr Phil enjoys spending time with his wife and their four children.
He can often be found relaxing on weekends, by having barbeques with friends, reading, tinkering with gadgets or just chilling out with the kids.
He is also a fully qualified light aircraft pilot; however, he no longer has time to fly with his busy professional and personal commitments.
